A classic never dies: Betty Boop, Popeye, Charlie Chaplin and more

Betty Boop, created by Max Fleischer, is one of the most well known and popular cartoon charters of all time, and is regarded as the first famous animated sex symbols. The series ran from 1930 to 1939, but due to all the sexual innuendos, had to be toned down in the 1934! You can see episodes from both the early and late 30s on Viki.

Popeye The Sailor, another Max Fleischer creation, is a series of animated shorts based on the cartoon character created by Elzie Crisler Segar. Watch Popeye as he eats spinach to gain his superhuman strength, usually in order to defeat the villain, Bluto, who's always making advances towards Popeye's sweety, Olive Oyl.

The Three Musketeers is a modern take on the classic novel by Alexandre Dumas. This 1933 John Wayne 12-chapter series tells the story of Clancy (Jack Mulhall), Renard (Raymond Hatton) and Schmidt (Francis X. Bushman Jr.), three members of the French Foreign Legion. The three friends dub themselves "The Three Musketeers" and John Wayne their "D'Artagnan."

Mr. Piper tells of the adventures of the Pied Piper of Hamelin, and is a classic Canadian children’s television series that originally aired in 1963.

Classic Christmas Movies is a great collection of Christmas-themed films for the entire family. Who says it needs to be Christmas-time to watch movies about love, friendship and the occasional mischief?

Gulliver's Travels is the 1939 movie telling the famous story of Gulliver, a world traveler who goes on his first voyage in 1699, encounters a major storm, and ends up shipwrecked and unconscious on the tiny island of Lilliput.

Sandy The Seal is the story of a lighthouse keeper who finds an injured seal and brings it back to his children. The adoptive family soon learns that there's a group of seal poachers out to get Sandy.
